SAMPLE HARMFUL TREATMENT MATERIALS

The links below provide excerpts from actual materials used by treatment programs across the country. These materials employ a mixture of both helpful and harmful methods; the harmful approaches are shown here. They threaten young children with imprisonment, require children to describe in detail (sometimes repeatedly) the sex acts they engaged in and the feelings they had while they did so, require them to repeatedly record deviant fantasies, severely stigmatize them as permanently defective,  require them to think of their feelings and thoughts--their very being--as dangerous, and attempt to change their sexual fantasies and arousal.

Note:  Some of these materials contain graphic descriptions of sex acts.
